FOUNDATION YEAR ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY TO THE FOUNDATION YEAR PROGRAM?
Canadian Citizens or landed immigrants with permanent resident status or a study permit are eligible to apply to the Yukon School of Visual Arts. Prospective students must meet the criteria in one of the following categories:
Minimum 65% in English 12 or ENGL 060 or EAP 060, OR acceptable equivalency score on Yukon University assessments.
Mature student status with an acceptable score on Yukon University assessments.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
If you are an international applicant, it is necessary for you to get in contact with the Yukon University’s International Education before you submit your application. There are a few extra steps for our international applicants, and the International Education office can guide you through the process. They can be reached via email at:

MATURE STUDENTS
Applicants qualify for mature student status if they meet one of the following criteria:
Applicant is 19 years of age or older
Applicant is 17 years of age and out of school for at least one year
A COMPLETE APPLICATION TO YSOVA MUST INCLUDE:
1) A PORTFOLIO SUBMITTED DIRECTLY TO YSOVA

Digital portfolios should be sent via Dropbox, WeTransfer or other file-sharing service link to info@yukonsova.ca. If using Google Drive, please send a link and give access permissions to sovadawson@gmail.com.
2) AN ONLINE APPLICATION SUBMITTED TO YUKON UNIVERSITY
You must apply to YukonU via their online application system: https://www.yukonu.ca/admissions/apply
The application includes a non-refundable application fee of $30.
3) TRANSCRIPTS FROM YOUR LAST (OR CURRENT) PLACE OF STUDY
You will need to request that transcripts from your last or current place of study are sent directly from the school to the Admissions Office at YukonU at admissions@yukonu.ca.
